Taiwan Beauty Rat Snake

Species description

**Othriophis taeniura taeniura** (Taiwan Beauty Rat Snake) is a large, strikingly coloured snake from the family *Colubridae*, native to Taiwan. It is active, curious, and an excellent climber, while its slender body and contrasting coloration make it a popular species in the terrarium hobby. Adults can reach approximately **180–250 cm in length**. The species is **non-venomous** and feeds mainly on small vertebrates, particularly rodents.
