Species description

Rythrolamprus jaegeri is a small snake of the colubrid family (Colubridae) found in the southern part of South America. It inhabits a variety of habitats, including grassy areas and areas with relatively moist soil. It is a slender, active snake with variable coloration, often in shades of brown, olive, or gray, with a darker pattern on its body. In the wild, it hunts small animals, and its diet may include, among other things, amphibians and other small vertebrates. This species is among the less popular snakes in European terrarium keeping; therefore, keeping it may be of interest primarily to those who already have experience with snakes and are able to provide appropriate environmental conditions.
